Darkness to Light: Stewards of Children

The Kellin Foundation offers the Darkness to Light: Stewards of Children® training, an evidence-informed child sexual abuse prevention program developed by Darkness to Light®. Stewards of Children® teaches adults practical, actionable steps they can take to prevent, recognize, and respond responsibly to child sexual abuse in homes, organizations, and communities.

This award-winning, adult-focused program centers on the belief that protecting children is an adult’s responsibility. Through a combination of survivor voices, expert insights, and engaging discussions, participants learn how to create safer environments, reduce opportunities for abuse, and act with confidence and care if concerns arise.

Core elements of Stewards of Children® include:

  • Practical guidance on preventing and responding to child sexual abuse.

  • An introduction to Darkness to Light’s 5 Steps to Protecting Children™, a framework for proactive protection and intervention.

  • Strategies for applying prevention principles in families, schools, faith communities, and youth-serving organizations.

  • Flexible learning options, including in-person sessions, facilitated virtual formats, and self-paced online training.

Participants leave with a deeper understanding of the dynamics of abuse, tools to minimize risk, and the confidence to take meaningful action to keep children safe.
