The Kellin Foundation offers counseling services to children, teens, adults, and families throughout the lifespan. Our “whole family” approach addresses a wide array of concerns, including depression, anxiety, grief, stress management, parent-child relationships, addictions, and many more. We use a trauma-informed approach, which means we have specific expertise on understanding how stress can impact our lives in a variety of ways.

Individual Mental Health Counseling

  • We provide behavioral health services, including therapy, for children, teens, adults and their families with a focus on people who have experienced trauma. This includes exposure to violence, loss of family, or other stressful events.

    As a partner with the National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN), we are nationally recognized for expertise in helping children thrive after difficult events.

Integrated Mental Health & Substance Use Counseling

  • Children, teens, and adults of all ages who are working on both mental health and substance use recovery.

  • Kellin Foundation's integrated mental health and substance use counseling model fosters a supportive environment where individuals can explore the root causes of their struggles and develop effective coping strategies. TF-CBT

  • Children ages 3-18 years of age.

  • The Kellin Foundation is committed to healing through Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), specifically designed to support children ages 3-18. Our approach acknowledges the profound impact of trauma on mental well-being and focuses on empowering individuals to overcome its effects. In TF-CBT, our skilled therapists work collaboratively with clients, employing evidence-based techniques such as cognitive restructuring and exposure therapy. SEEKING SAFETY

  • Ages 12 and up.

  • Seeking Safety is a present-focused and evidence-based program that prioritizes safety as the foundation for healing. Our skilled clinicians guide participants through a series of topics, empowering them to establish safety in their lives and break free from the cycle of trauma and substance use. Grounded in practical coping skills and a strength-based approach, Seeking Safety provides a roadmap for individuals seeking to build a stable and healthy foundation.

S.B.I.R.T

  • Children ages 12-17.

  • Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) is a comprehensive approach to identifying and addressing substance use in its early stages. Our skilled professionals conduct screenings to assess potential concerns, provide brief interventions for individuals at risk, and offer referrals to specialized treatment if needed. This program aims to promote healthier choices and prevent the escalation of substance use issues. By integrating SBIRT into our services, we empower individuals to make informed decisions about their well-being and guide them towards the support they need for a healthier, substance-free life.

MITI-KIDS

  • Children of military and veteran families.

  • MITI-KIDS (Military Informed, Trauma Informed) is an initiative dedicated to training and building the capacity of community-based organizations to deliver evidence-based services specifically tailored for military and veteran families. By combining military and trauma-informed approaches, MITI-Kids ensures that children within these families receive targeted and compassionate support.

SCHOOL-BASED MENTAL HEALTH

  • Our School-Based Mental Health initiative in partnership with Guilford County Schools and NCCJ creates a supportive and accessible environment for students, offering timely intervention and emotional support. By integrating mental health professionals into the school setting, we empower students to navigate challenges, build resilience, and foster positive mental health throughout their academic journey.
