Amanda Ireland Ward Scholarship Program

Application Cycle is Open Now - February 15, 2021

Calling all Guilford County High School Seniors!  This is for YOU!

The Amanda Ireland Ward Scholarship was established to honor the memory of an amazing woman who exemplified leadership, service, and laughter.  Mandy was a child and family advocate and trainer with the Kellin Foundation who touched thousands of people over the years.  In her honor, the Kellin Foundation is proud to establish this scholarship fund.
  • The $500 scholarship is open to Guilford County graduating seniors who exude a spirit of service to others, a value in caring for and connecting with all people, and leadership inside and outside the classroom as illustrated through a written essay, demonstrated academic achievements, and mentor, teacher, and/or coach recommendations.
  • While it is considered during the selection process, economic need is not a prerequisite to apply for the scholarship.
  • All eligible applicants will be considered, with applicants from first responder families and girls leadership academies (both groups that Mandy was closely connected with) particularly encouraged to apply.

Mandy Ireland Ward, MA
Mandy Ward graduated with a Master's in Sociology with a Criminology concentration from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  Mrs. Ward worked for Kellin, PLLC and the Kellin Foundation serving as a Youth Mental Health First Aid Trainer, as project coordinator and client navigator for the
Greensboro HEALS project, and as a child and family advocate with the Greensboro Child Response Initiative (CRI).  Mrs. Ward had a wide-range of experience working with community-based programs and law enforcement agencies doing program evaluation, training and technical assistance, and program implementation primarily focused on evidence based practices, trauma-informed care, and ways to increase successful outcomes
among young people.  In her free time, Mandy enjoyed being outdoors, running, and spending time with her husband, family, and friends.  Mandy gained her wings on October 1, 2016, when delivering her 7 month old beautiful baby girl, Ava Lynn.  Mandy will be missed dearly and will forever be a part of the Kellin family.
